Notifications

Proof Points does not push notifications. It will not ping you in Slack, send you a digest, or interrupt your day with an alert. It is a library you visit when you want it, not a stream that comes to you.

Because it works this way, the only responses you get from Proof Points come back when you ask for something. When you run an action on the library page, the result appears right there on the page.

Replies to Your Actions

When: right after you run an action, such as extracting candidates from a source or running a Scrutiny pass.

What it contains:

  • A short summary of what happened: how many candidates were found, how many passed Scrutiny, how many are waiting in Needs Review.
  • The updated counts at the top of the library page (Total, Scrutiny Passed, Candidates, Starred, Needs Review).

Action required: review the result and decide your next move. After an extraction, open the Needs Review queue to approve or reject the new candidates. After a Scrutiny pass, check what rose to the top, then approve the ones you want usable.

If Something Goes Wrong

When: an action could not complete, for example a source you pasted had no usable evidence in it.

What it contains:

  • A short, plain message telling you what happened and what to try.

Action required: follow the suggestion. Often it means giving a clearer source, or checking that the material actually contains a citable fact rather than general commentary.

What You Will Not Get

  • No scheduled summaries. Proof Points does not send a daily or weekly roundup.
  • No approval cards out of the blue. New candidates wait quietly in Needs Review for the next time you open the page.
  • No "all clear" or recovery pings.

If you want to know what is waiting for you, open the Proof Points page and look at the Needs Review count. That number is the whole story.
