Frequently Asked Questions
What Is the Difference Between Scrutiny Passed and Approved?
These are two separate gates, and the difference matters. A point that passes Scrutiny has cleared a quality check: it is not a duplicate of something already in the library, and it scored well enough to be worth your attention. That is a ranking. It does not make the point usable. A point becomes usable only when you Approve it in the Needs Review queue. Until you approve it, no draft can cite it, no matter how high it scored.
Who Can Actually Use a Proof Point Once It Is Approved?
Your drafting agents: Marketing Strategist, Marketing Content, and Marketing SEO. When they write client-facing copy, they can ground it in the points you have approved. They cannot touch a point that is still a candidate, still in Needs Review, or rejected. You are the single gate between a candidate and a published claim.
Will Proof Points Ever Make a Result Sound Better Than It Was?
No. It keeps every number exactly as your source stated it. If the source says "roughly half," that is what the point says; it will not turn it into a precise figure. If the source says leads tripled, the point says 3x, not "more than tripled." This is deliberate: the library is only worth citing if it stores what was actually true.
What Happens When a Proof Point Names a Client?
Proof Points prepares an anonymized, public-safe version alongside the original. The public version restates the same outcome with the client's identity removed, for example "a B2B SaaS client" instead of the client's name. Any external draft uses the public version, so a client name is never exposed. If a point cannot be cleaned without losing its meaning, Proof Points holds it back rather than risk a leak.
Can I Just Tell It a Result Is True and Have It Add the Point?
No. Proof Points will not add a claim that has no source behind it, and it will not "verify" something you simply assert. It asks for a citable source it can record: a call summary, a case study, a quote, a stat. This is the rule that keeps the library trustworthy. A claim with no source is not a proof point.
Do I Get a Notification When New Candidates Are Ready?
No. Proof Points does not push notifications or send digests. New candidates wait quietly in the Needs Review queue until the next time you open the page. The Needs Review count tells you how many are waiting.
Common Issues
A Draft Is Missing a Fact You Expected It to Use
- Open the Proof Points page and check the Needs Review count. The point you wanted may still be a candidate waiting on your approval.
- If the point is in Scrutiny Passed but not approved, remember that passing Scrutiny is a ranking, not a release. Approve it in Needs Review to make it usable.
- Confirm you are looking at the right brand. Each brand has its own library; a point approved for one brand is not available to another.
Proof Points Found Nothing in a Source You Gave It
- Check that the source actually contains a citable fact: a number, a named result, a direct quote, or a statistic. General commentary, opinions, and motivational language are culled on purpose.
- Try a tighter source. A full meeting summary with the key outcomes stated plainly extracts better than a long, rambling transcript.
- If a fact is in there but did not come out, paste just the part of the source that states the result, so the claim is easy to find.
A Candidate Passed Scrutiny but Still Cannot Be Cited
- This is expected. Scrutiny ranks; it does not release. Open the Needs Review queue and Approve the point to make it usable.
- If you do not want it cited, Reject it with a short reason. Proof Points uses your reason to extract better next time.
You Are Not Sure Why a Point Was Rejected or Held Back
- Check whether the point named a client and could not be safely anonymized. Proof Points holds back any point it cannot de-identify without destroying its meaning.
- Review the reason you or a colleague added when rejecting it. Rejections can carry a short note explaining the call.
- If you believe a point should be usable and cannot tell why it is not, contact support@agenteous.com with the details.
