Agents and Tech Stack
What It's For
These two screens answer "what is running on this install?". Agents lists every agent on your install, whether it is working, and when it last did something. Tech Stack lists every service your install declares and how each one runs. Both are read-only.
You find both in the Operator Console under System.
Agents
The tiles count Agents, Healthy, Needs Attention, and Idle. The Roster table lists every agent that runs on Agenteous, sorted so problems come first: Down, then Degraded, then Healthy, then Idle and Not Used Yet, then Switched Off.
Agents work in two ways, and status is worked out differently for each:
- Scheduled agents have background jobs on your install, such as an inbox poller or a nightly report. They are judged by those jobs.
- On Demand agents work only when someone asks them, from Slack or the app. They have no schedule to miss, so they are never marked unhealthy for being quiet.
Each row shows:
- Status:
- Healthy: every background job passed its last check, or (on-demand agents) the agent did some work in the past 7 days.
- Degraded: a background job is running late or answering slowly.
- Down: a background job has stopped, its last run failed, or it is long overdue. The job's name appears under the agent.
- Idle: an on-demand agent with no activity in the past 7 days. This is not a fault.
- Not Used Yet: an on-demand agent with no activity on record on this install.
- Switched Off: turned off in Configuration. It does not run and does not count against the install's health.
- Agent: the agent's display name, with its internal identifier beneath it.
- Runs: Scheduled with the number of background jobs, or On Demand.
- Channel: the identifier of the Slack channel the agent posts into, or a dash if it has none.
- Last Active: the most recent sign of work from the agent: a background job's run, an AI call, or a chat reply.
- AI Calls (30 Days): how many AI model calls the agent made in the past 30 days. A steady count means it is doing work even when nobody chats with it.
- Model: the main AI model the agent uses. Some agents use different models for different tasks.
- Registry: the agent's status in the agent roster.
Only Degraded and Down need you. The Operations Overview counts an agent as OK unless one of its background jobs is Degraded or Down, and leaves switched-off agents out of the count. For the detail of each job, open the Service Health tab of Monitoring.
The page reads the roster fresh each time you open it.
Tech Stack
The Services table lists every service your install declares, whether or not it is running. It never checks a service, so a listed service is not necessarily up; Monitoring answers that. The list covers services specific to Agenteous plus shared platform services, marked "shared".
Each row shows the service, its runtime, the command it runs, its port if it has one, its mode, and which product line it belongs to. The mode tells you how the service runs:
- daemon: runs continuously and is restarted if it stops.
- scheduled: runs on a calendar schedule, shown beneath the badge.
- oneshot: runs once to completion.
- unmanaged: listed here but started and managed separately, for example the secure web tunnel.
Who Uses It
- Operations administrators: confirm an agent is active after a change, or check what a service is meant to do before investigating it.
- Agency owners: see the full roster of agents working for your agency.
